Use Shopify Sidekick with Link Manager

15 October 2026

Sidekick, Shopify’s AI assistant in the admin, can now work with Link Manager. You can ask about broken links, visitor 404s, site scans and redirects in plain language, and Sidekick answers from your Link Manager data without you opening the app.

Get a quick summary. Ask “how are my links doing?” and Sidekick tells you how many 404s your visitors hit this week compared to last week, how many broken paths still need a redirect, what your latest site scan found, and whether 404 tracking is turned on.

Find what’s broken. Ask “which pages give visitors a 404?” or “what did my last site scan find?” For each broken link from a scan, Sidekick tells you which pages link to it and gives you a link to edit those pages in your Shopify admin. That’s usually the fastest fix when the broken link is in your own content (a page, a blog post or a product description).

Check one URL. Ask “is /sale redirected?” or “why is /products/old-shirt broken?” and Sidekick looks at everything Link Manager knows about that address: the redirect or wildcard redirect that covers it, how often visitors hit a 404 there, and which pages link to it.

Look up your redirects. Ask “do I have a redirect for /summer?” or “which redirects failed to sync?” and Sidekick searches your URL redirects and wildcard redirects. If Shopify refused a redirect, it shows you why.

Answer how-to questions. Ask “how do I turn on the app embed?” or “how do wildcard redirects work?” and Sidekick answers from the Link Manager help articles and links to the full article.

Sidekick only reads your Link Manager data. It doesn’t create redirects or start scans, but each answer links to the right page in Link Manager so you can do that there.

To try it, open Sidekick in your Shopify admin and mention Link Manager or your broken links.
