You can now change the capitalization of a text field in one step. Pick a field like Title or Vendor in Field to edit, choose Change capitalization in How to edit, and then pick one of these options:
- UPPER CASE:
NIKE AIR MAX RUNNING SHOE - lower case:
nike air max running shoe - Title Case:
Nike Air Max Running Shoe - Sentence case:
Nike air max running shoe
Before, you had to set the field to a dynamic value of the same field and pick a capitalization there. That still works, but when capitalization is the only thing you want to change, the new option is one step.
Change capitalization works on product titles, vendors, product types, SKUs, option names and values, SEO titles and descriptions, and single-line and multi-line text metafields. You can use it in a one-off edit and in rules, and Sidekick can do it too. It isn’t available for the product description, because a description holds HTML formatting that capitalization changes would break. It isn’t available for the URL handle either, because handles are always lowercase. Metafields that only accept values from a list don’t show it.
Title Case makes the first letter of each word uppercase and the rest lowercase, so it’s a good way to clean up titles that a supplier sent in all caps.
