Use Shopify Sidekick with Bulk Product Editor

28 July 2026

Sidekick, Shopify’s AI assistant in the admin, can now work with Bulk Product Editor. You can describe a bulk edit in plain language and have Sidekick set it up for you, get answers from our help docs, or check on your past edits — all without leaving the Sidekick chat.

Set up a bulk edit. Describe a change in plain language — “decrease the price of all Nike products by 10%” or “set every product under $5 to draft” — and Sidekick will build the edit for you. It can filter by product fields, tags, collections, or metafields, and change price, tags, status, descriptions, SEO fields, metafields, and most other fields the app supports. It also resolves fuzzy wording, so “nike” finds the vendor even if it’s stored as “Nike Sportswear”.

One important point: Sidekick never runs an edit on its own. It stages a preview and hands you a link to the normal review page, pre-filled with the filters and changes. You see how many products match, adjust anything you want, and the edit only runs when you click run. If you close the page instead, nothing happens to your products.

Answer how-to questions. Ask “how do I bulk edit prices by percentage?” or “what does error MTF001 mean?” and Sidekick searches our help center, answers from the docs, and links to the full article.

Check on your edits. Ask things like “did my price edit finish?” or “show my recent bulk edits” and Sidekick will look up your edit history: the status, how many products each edit changed, which fields it touched, and when it ran. If an edit failed, it can tell you the error. Each answer links straight to the edit in the app.

To try it, open Sidekick in your Shopify admin and mention Ablestar or your bulk edits.
